Kulgam, July 2: Two livestock animals were left dead due to a high volt electric current from an electric pole in Mirhama area of South Kashmiri’s Kulgam district on Tuesday evening.

Sources informed that two valued milk yielding cows were electrocuted to death in Mirhama area of Kulgam, causing substantial loss to the owners

The unfortunate incident has sparked a wave of resentment among the locals, as they claim to have informed the authorities about the ‘faulty electric pole’ on multiple occasions.

Alleging the Department concerned of negligent approach towards their genuine grievance, the locals said that, “Call it fortunate or unfortunate, but the fact is that this negligence on behalf of PDD could have potentially consumed any human life even.”

“The PDD has been too lackadaisical in its approach for it hasn’t shown any interest to repair the service line despite representation moved before it on multiple occasions,” said a local.

The residents said that affected families may be provided compensation for the loss rendered to them.

Despite repeated attempts, Executive Engineer and AEE PDD Kulgam couldn’t be available for their comments in this regard.
