Kulgam, March 16: In a significant gesture aimed at strengthening communal harmony and fostering closer ties with the local population during the holy month of Ramadan, the Indian Army’s 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organized a grand Iftar gathering at Devsar area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.

The event brought together a diverse gathering including senior security officers, officials from the civil administration, political representatives, media persons, community elders, and local residents from nearby areas. The participants joined the Iftar after offering prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people across the nation.

The gathering reflected the true spirit of Ramadan, emphasizing unity, compassion, and brotherhood. It also served as an important platform for meaningful interaction between the Army and the local community, allowing participants to engage in discussions and strengthen mutual understanding.

Officials of the Army highlighted that such initiatives are part of continued efforts to build trust and maintain a strong relationship with the local populace.

They reiterated their commitment not only to ensuring security in the region but also to promoting social harmony and cooperation with the civil society.

Participants appreciated the initiative taken by the Army, stating that such events help bridge gaps and create an atmosphere of goodwill and cooperation among different sections of society. They emphasized that community engagement during significant occasions like Ramadan plays a vital role in nurturing peace and stability in the region.

Guests were served a variety of traditional Ramadan delicacies, and the evening was marked by warm interactions and exchange of greetings among attendees.

The atmosphere remained cordial and festive as people from different backgrounds came together to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and shared cultural values.

Locals expressed hope that such initiatives would continue in the future, further strengthening the bond between the security forces and the people while promoting the message of unity, peace, and collective progress.
