2—Transformers installed near GHSS Qaimoh poses threat to students life

Will take-up the matter with concerned deptt for immediate removal of the transformers: ZEO Qaimoh; All possible steps for the safety of students will be taken: AEE PDD

Qaimoh (Kulgam), April 19: Exposing sheer negligence on the part of Power Development Department (PDD), Two electric transformers installed adjecent boundary of Govt HSS Qaimoh in Kulgam district poses constant threat to the students and the locals urged the administration to look into the issue before an untoward incident takes place.

A student said that “The transformers had been installed by the Power Development department along the school boundary. Not only is it dangerous for the students, but it is a majornegligence on the part of department and school authorities. Therefore, it mustbe removed or shifted to another place as soon as possible.”

“School is also close to the transformers and parents have to accompany their wards to the school so that they remain safe while crossing the road where the transformers is installed” he said.

“These transformers can prove fatal anytime as it is close to the school building from where students are going each day,” another student said.

“School administration as well as the locals have approached the department for relocation of transformers in order to avoid any untoward incident, which can befall any time,” another local said.

They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that any eventuality may be avoided.

One being contacted to Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Qaimoh Zaffar Bhat told that he would take up the matter with concerned department for immediate removal of transformers near the school premises.

Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) PDD Kulgam Irfana Rafiqi said that she would sought a report from ground staff in this regard and all possible steps for the safety of the students will be taken.
