Kulgam, Feb 27: Three JCB machines and three sieve tractors involved in illegal mining at Ashmuji area of Kulgam were seized by Geology and Mining Department Kulgam last night.
An official told that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan a team of mining department led by District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kulgam Murtaza Bashir carried out the operation on Vaisho nallah at Ashmuji in Kulgam last night and seized Three JCB’s and three sieve tractors for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Meanwhile, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kulgam Murtaza Bashir said that “He would act tough against persons involved in illegal mining and nobody will be spared for such doings”, adding that all the vehicles after seizure were handed over to police and shall remain in their custody till realization of penalty.
