Kulgam, Jan 26: The 75th Republic day celebration was celebrated in District Kulgam with highest fervor and gaiety wherein tricolor was unfurled at each Police Station/Police establishment and other Govt offices. The main function in this behalf was held at District Police Line Kulgam in which DDC Chairperson Kulgam Mohd Afzal Parray (chief guest) alongwith SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal unfurled the national flag, inspected the Parade and took salute from the Parade.
The Parade was commanded by DySP PC Manzgam, Shri Rohit Gupta-JKPS consisting the contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, J&K Lady Police, J&K Home guard, NCC cadets and students of various schools of the district Kulgam.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan IAS, DDC Vice Chairperson, DDC members, ADDC, ADC, ACR, ASP Kulgam Shabir Khan, ASP NH, Shabir Khan, DySP DAR Kulgam Shri. Rajinder Singh-JKPS, DySP HQR Kulgam Shri Arif Mir and other senior officers/officials of civil administration, Police, CRPF were present on the occasion.
Besides, scintillating colorful cultural programmes featuring patriotic and cultural themes were presented by cultural clubs, artists, and students of various schools including bangra dance performed by the contingent of CRPF 18Bn.
The ceremony concluded with prize distribution for march past and cultural practices. Officers/officias from various departments were also felicitated for exemplary public service.
Large number of people witnessed the function. Keeping in view the present security scenario, elaborate security arrangements were made by the District Police Kulgam alongwith other security forces.
