Devsar (Kulgam), March 24: MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah on Tuesday inaugurated an ambulance service at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Devsar, aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare response in the constituency.
The initiative was welcomed by locals, who said it would ensure timely medical assistance and improve patient care in the area.
On the occasion, the MLA also laid the foundation stone for the Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah Memorial Public Library in presence of District President of National Conference, block presidents and officials from the R&B Department, including the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE).
Later, a large public gathering was held at the residence of the Block President Devsar, where people in large numbers paid tributes to former Minister Ghulam Ahmad Shah. Speakers highlighted his contributions and recalled his dedication towards the welfare of the people.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines, MLA Shah said he was overwhelmed by the massive turnout.
“I did not expect such a large gathering, but this reflects the love and respect people have for Ghulam Ahmad Shah, who did tremendous work for the constituency,” he said.
He said the memorial library would serve as a lasting tribute and a centre of learning for the youth.
Shah said that construction on 16 roads is currently underway in different parts of the constituency.
“The tender for a Dak Bungalow at Devsar has also been floated and its foundation stone will be laid soon,” he said.
Reiterating his commitment, he said he will leave no stone unturned to ensure holistic development of Devsar.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Shah alleged that they failed to deliver during their tenure and misled the people with false claims.
