5 vehicles seized by police for Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Kulgam

Says persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law; Urges people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of govt rules

Kulgam, Jan 9: Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Kulgam police arrested five persons and seized five vehicles.

The Police party led by DySP HQRS Kulgam along with SHO Police station Kulgam under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS during patrolling at Matalhama, Kulgam arrested five persons (Drivers) whose identity has been ascertained as:-

  1. Shabir Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh R/O Sumarbugh, Lasian: 2. Sameer Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Muhammad Dar R/O Zanipora, Pampora, 3. Fayaz Ahmad Reshi S/O Nazir Ahmad Reshi R/O Lethpora, Pulwama.4. Bilal Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Nabi Dar R/O Lethpora, Pulwama and 5. Javid Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Sultan Dar R/O Lethpora, Pulwama and seized five vehicles (Dumpers) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 04/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at police station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.

People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
