Javid Dar says enforcement to be strengthened against spurious fertilisers
Baramulla, Oct: Javid Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, on Monday called for enhancing the implementation of government schemes in agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry to benefit rural communities and strengthen the economy.
Speaking to reporters during a public gathering in Rafiabad – the constituency he represents as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Dar said there have been past shortcomings in raising awareness and implementing these initiatives but assured that they will be prioritised to ensure they reach the masses.
“These initiatives are revolutionary, especially for rural areas, and have the potential to improve livelihoods,” he said.
Javid acknowledged the challenges created by the absence of a functioning government over recent years, saying that public grievances are natural in such circumstances. “Let us review things thoroughly, and hopefully, we will pave the way for a brighter future,” he said.
He assured the public that the promises outlined in the government’s manifesto would be fulfilled. “Whatever we have in the manifesto will be implemented in letter and spirit,” he said.
Regarding the issue of spurious fertilisers, the MLA announced plans to strengthen enforcement measures. “The registration of companies will be reviewed, and their products will be closely scrutinised,” he said.
Dar also highlighted the importance of high-density exotic crops, which serve as valuable cash crops. “These crops need special attention to maximise their potential and maintain steady growth,” he said
