Kulgam, Jan 8: Ahead of the Republic day celebrations, security has been beefed up at Manzgam area of south kashmiri’s kulgam district on Wednesday, official said on Wednesday.
An official told that on the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal-IPS security has been beefed up and checkpoints have been erected in the many places in the area and frisking has been intensified. Security personnel are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles.
“Close vigil is being kept on the overall situation in the district, senior Police officers are personally monitoring the security situation in the district to ensure a safe and secure environment for the celebrations”, he added.
The Republic day function will be held in district Police line (DPL) Kulgam on Jan 26 2025.
