
Anantnag, Dec 3: In a strong and inspiring message, DIG South Kashmir Javid Iqbal Matoo on Wednesday reaffirmed that persons with disabilities are not just participants but indispensable contributors to society, possessing “exceptional strengths, talents, and abilities.”
Addressing a programme held to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Zaiba Appa Institute of Inclusive Education, Bijbehara, DIG Matoo, stressed that society and institutions carry a shared moral duty to build inclusive, barrier-free environments where specially-abled individuals can thrive and display their potential without limitations.
He commended the institute’s commitment to inclusive education, praising its persistent efforts in building confidence, independence, and skills among students with disabilities.
DIG Matoo called on all stakeholders to intensify, sustain, and expand initiatives aimed at empowering persons with disabilities, enabling them to lead dignified, independent, and fulfilling lives.
