Kulgam, February 14 : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police Kulgam arrests a notorious drug peddler and recovered narcotic substance from his possession.
A police party headed by IC Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling spotted a person moving in suspicious circumstances at Furrah near Railway bridge. The said person after being challenged by the Police party tried to flee from the spot. However he was chased and tactfully apprehended by the alert Police personnel. Identified as; Ansar Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Nabi Mir R/O Peath Bugh Dialgam, Anantnag was subjected to thorough frisking by the Police party on spot. During the course of frisking 05 grams of Heroin like contraband were recovered from his possession. The individual was taken into custody and a Case FIR No. 41/2024 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act was registered against him in Police Station Qazigund. Investigation of the case has been taken up.
