Anantnag | February 28:: Senior leader Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, today extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team on securing their maiden Ranji Trophy title, describing the achievement as a historic and defining milestone for the Union Territory.

In an statement, Shah lauded the players, coaching staff, and team management for their outstanding performance, resilience, and professionalism throughout the tournament. He made special mention of Aquib Nabi of Baramulla, whose consistent and match-winning performances, he noted, were instrumental in scripting this landmark victory.

Shah also acknowledged the personal involvement of Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, who travelled to Karnataka and remained with the team during the crucial phase of the competition. Their presence, he stated, significantly boosted the morale of the players and reflected the government’s unwavering commitment to sports development.

Highlighting the broader vision behind this success, Shah attributed the achievement to the farsighted leadership of Party President Farooq Abdullah, whose sustained efforts over the years laid a strong foundation for sports infrastructure and nurtured a vibrant sporting ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.

He further commended Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his continued initiatives to promote sports across the Union Territory, emphasizing inclusivity across disciplines. Shah remarked that the Chief Minister’s personal sporting background and passion for athletics have greatly encouraged youth participation and fostered a culture of excellence.

Terming the Ranji Trophy victory a landmark accomplishment, Imran Amin Shah expressed optimism that this triumph will inspire the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to pursue sports professionally and bring further laurels to the region in the years to come.
