
Kulgam, Feb 1: After the heavy snowfall in upper reaches of south kashmiri’s kulgam district which threw life out of gear, the administration has expedited its operations in all these areas to ensure complete restoration of the essential services.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan said that upper reaches of the region like famous tourist destination Aharabal and others parts received 1 feet of snow, “Men and machinery have been pressed into service to clear the all roads in the belt at earliest”, he said.
“As of now more than 95% of snow of priority-1 (P1) roads are cleared, and 70% of priority (P2) roads are also cleared, adding remaining snow would be cleared at an earliest”, he said.
“There are some obstacles in restoration of water supply due to sub-zero temperature, adding they are deploying water tankers where ever required through PHE department, hopefully this thing would be resolved soon and electricity is being provided as per schedule in the belt, adding there are 1-2 electric transformers damaged that too would be repaired within two days” the SDM said, when asked about water and electricity restoration.
He said efforts are underway to ensure complete restoration of the services in the sub division.
