Kulgam, Sep 30: With two more, Kulgam Police held 9 drug peddlers so far during the month of September in the district.
An official told that with the new two arrests on Sunday, Kulgam police held 9 drug peddlers so far in the ongoing month of September in the district.
The fresh two drug peddlers namely were identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Rahman Sheikh R/O Kawaki Bazar Qaimoh, along with 750 grams of Cannabis like contraband substance during a naka checking at Khudwani Byepass by PS Qaimoh and Nizamuddin Kunshee Son of Mohd Abdullah Kunshee resident of Gulab Bagh along with their 3 Kgs of Poppy Straw, 03.50 grams of Brownsugar, one digital weighing machine and cash of Rs 29750 during a naka checking at Gulab Bagh by IC PP Jawhar tunnel.
Accordingly, Case with FIR No. 91/2024 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act at Police Station Qaimoh and case vide FIR No 226/2024 U/S 8/15, 21 NDPS act at police station Qazigund stands registered and investigation has been taken up in both cases.
“Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law,” police said, Urged community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood.
