
Kulgam, Dec 11: As winter tightens its grip in Kashmir, Twenty five machines are ready for snow clearance in south kashmiri’s Kulgam district, an official said on Thursday.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Mechanical Engineering Department (MED), Kulgam Khurshid Abdulla said that department is all geared up and has made all arrangements to ensure smooth clearance from all roads in the district.
“We have 25 snow clearance machines, including 20 regular machines and 5 emergency-based snow cutters in place to address any issue arising from the forecast weather conditions, to ensure smooth snow clearance in Kulgam district”, he said.
“Our teams are on ready mode to respond to any weather disturbance forecasted by the MeT, adding
We will undertake clearance of 550 kms across 154 roads under its jurisdiction this year”, he added.
“As far as the upper reaches are concerned like Kund belt
“We urge people to cooperate with the us and not to park their vehicles on the roadside during the snowfall”, he added.
