
Kulgam, July 20: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), Kulgam, has imposed a fine of Rs 28000 on the traffic violators during drive launched in the district today.
An official told that they have initiated an intensive checking drive today in main town Kulgam, targeting vehicles driving without seatbelts, without helmets, wrong parking nd unfit commercial vehicles.
“The drive resulted in the issuance of 31 challans. The total fines expected to be realized from these challans amount to ₹28,000”, he said.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kulgam, Abrar Ahmad Kripak told that such drives will continue in future, adding Violators will be dealt with strictly”,
“Following traffic laws is not only our legal obligation but our moral and civic responsibility as well”, he said.
