Kulgam, July 20: The link road between Baihama-Mandhole area of Devsar belt in south kashmiri’s Kulgam district is in dilapidated condition owing to the apathy of authorities concerned who are doing nothing to macadamise of this road.
“The length of this road is just 2 km which starts from Ziyarat Sharief Mandhole as a vital link for the villages situated nearby”, residents said.
They said a large number of people daily commute on this road but the condition of the road is such that it poses a grave threat to the precious human lives as there is a high risk of accidents due to pot-holes.
“We appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take appropriate action in this regard, as the locals are facing a lot of problems due to the pathetic condition of the only road link to the area,” a local of Baihama, Irshad Ahmad Bhat said.
Assistant Executive Engineer R&B, Rayees Ahmad Zargar when contacted told Kashmir Upfront that “This road was among thirty roads in the proposal for macadamization, but only six roads out of thirty were approved for macadamization this year, adding that this road would be macadamised under the next year’s plan”, he said.
