Kulgam, Oct 25: In a significant breakthrough, Kulgam Police have arrested eight long-time fugitives in a week who had been evading law enforcement for years — some for more than three decades.

According to police official, the arrests were made during a sustained operation carried out across various parts of the district over the past week following the directions from SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary (IPS), The detained individuals had been absconding in connection with multiple criminal cases registered in different police stations of Kulgam.

A senior police officer said the arrests underscore the department’s unwavering resolve to bring offenders to justice, regardless of how much time has passed.

“The successful arrest of long-absconding accused persons reflects the firm commitment of Kulgam Police to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no offender escapes accountability,” the officer said.

He added that the operation sends a strong message that justice, though delayed, will never be denied.

“Kulgam Police remains steadfast in its mission to maintain law and order and deliver justice to victims, proving once again that the law will eventually catch up with those who try to evade it,” he said.
