Qazigund, March 25: Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 at Navyug Tunnel, Qazigund has been placed under heightened security to maintain law and order and prevent any anti-national activities.
A senior police officer said that all vehicles are being thoroughly checked to ensure strict vigil and to foil any suspicious activity.
“Senior officers, including Addl. SP NHW Qazigund Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, are personally monitoring the situation under the directions of SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Chowdhary (IPS),” he said.
“The focus remains on tracking suspicious movements to prevent any untoward incident,” he added.
Patrolling teams have been deployed along the highway and adjoining areas, conducting extensive checks using metal detectors and wall radar systems. Dog squads have also been pressed into service to strengthen surveillance.
