
Kulgam, Jan, 23: Authorities in Kulgam on Thursday inspected the market in Qaimoh town of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district to uphold quality standards and regulate prices. Six Challans were issued to the shopkeepers found violating regulations.
An official told that Tehsildar Qaimoh Nisar Ahmad, Station House Officer (SHO) Qaimoh Kushab Michael accompanied by officers from various departments including TSO Tahira Akhter, CHO Qaimoh Mohd Yousuf, Horticulture circle officer Arifa Jan and others officials led the market checking in the Qaimoh town.
“During the checking, the team members checked rate lists, ensure hygienic environment and ensured that package commodities sold to consumers bears MRP, Package date, Net Content and other related information”, he said.
Talking to VOI News, Tehsildar Qaimoh Nisar Ahmad told that drive was carried out in collaboration with other line departments in Qaimoh Town ahead of the upcoming festive occasion of Shab-e-Meraj to ensure quality, to curb black marketing, profiteering of essential commodities, to keep vigil on erring shopkeepers,
“The drive will continue in the area so that quality of commodities is ensured,” he said
The officials also provided awareness to the stakeholders regarding hygienically handling and good storage practices of different food product categories.
