Qazigund, July 5: Residents of several villages of Qazigund on Saturday complained that they are without electricity and the concern department is watching as mute spectator.
Residents told that “We are without electricity since morning in this rising high temperature, adding we are paying their regular electric tariff bills despite that the PDD is not providing them the electricity.
A local said that for the past few days, power supply gets snapped multiple times on a daily basis without any schedule.
“As temperatures are soaring, we are facing unscheduled power cuts. We hope that the KPDCL will look into the issue without any delay. We are unable to use any gadgets like fans amid heat wave”, residents told VOI.
“Even today, on Saturday, we had a day-long power cut, and there was no information from the officials about the reason for this day-long power cut”, another local said.
Meanwhile, an official from KPDCL told that most of the power cuts are work-related.
“Maintenance and developmental works are going on in various areas which force us to go for power cuts sometimes, adding, efforts on to restore electricity shortly”, he said.
