Says 88k children from 0-5 years to be administered in the district; Urges parents to ensure that not a single child is left out
Kulgam, March 3: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam Vikar Ahmad Giri on Sunday kick-started the pulse polio immunization program at district hospital Kulgam.
The pulse polio immunization is being held across J&K UT wherein children below the age of 5 years will be administered the additional dose of the oral polio vaccine.
While addressing media persons, the DC said there is a target of 88000 children from 0-5 who will be given the pulse polio drops across Kulgam. At district hospital the DC personally administered polio shots to children.
For the successful pulse polio immunization program, he said 2032 workers have been deployed across 508 pulse polio booths across Kulgam district, adding that they are hopeful that they would ensure 100 per cent targets kids will be vaccinated by the end of the day .
The DC said on the first day, the immunization was held in polio booths while in the next two days health workers will visit door to door to cover left out children.
He also urged parents to ensure that not a single child is left out.
Present on the occasion were Incharge CMO, Dr. Gulzar and other officers and officials from district administration.
