Kulgam, Mar 2: Strong winds caused damage to nearly 120 house roofs across Kulgam district in South Kashmir on Saturday, according to officials.
An official said that approximately 119 houses in Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam, Pahloo, and Devsar Tehsils sustained minor or partial damage due to the strong winds.
He added that Tehsildars, along with their teams, promptly assessed the situation on the ground.
Fortunately, no damage was reported from Qaimoh, Frisal, or Yaripora Tehsils.
“Initial reports suggest that 95 roofs in Damhal Hanjipora, 6 in Devsar, and 9 each in Kulgam and Pahloo Tehsil were affected,” the official said.
The administration is processing the cases and will forward them to higher authorities for appropriate action.
