Kulgam, Jan 4: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party headed by SHO Police Station Devsar established a checkpoint (Naka) at Banghal near Taj Brick kiln and today at about 1610 hours, during checking, one person who has been identified as Mohd Ishaq Shah S/O Mohd Abdullah Shah R/O Banghall carrying a nylon bag and moving in suspicious condition was intercepted. After search, 500 grams of Grinded Cannabis like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station Devsar where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 04/2024 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Devsar and investigation has been initiated.
