Kulgam, Jan 4: A teenage girl from Kulgam district has shinned in the national Martial art Championship held at Delhi after bagging the Silver medal.
Muskan Mehraj (14) daughter of Mehraj Din Wani resident of Adipora area of Kulgam district who is a class 9th student at Leeds convent school Kulgam won a silver medal at the Sub junior National Martial Art Championship organised by Bagatur Federation Cup 2023 held at New Delhi from 23 to 25 December 2023.
Around 15 States Of India Participated In The Cup, with participation of 270 Students, out of which 8 students of Gindoo foundation Awantipora bagged 2 gold medals, 4 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals.
Muskan while talking to news agency, said that she is very much happy over winning silver medal at the national level.
“I was studying in 9th standard, when I started my journey of martial arts and later on, kept on participating in several district, state-level and federation cups and won many medals both at local and state level followed by national”, she said.
Reflecting on her success, Muskan credits her achievements to the unwavering support and motivation provided by her coachs, Farhan Reyaz and Shah Fasil Ali and her family.
“Sports infrastructure needs more improvement as the biggest challenge that they have also faced is lack of facilities like acadamies that almost every sports person faces. I guess that is something which can create a great impact on your journey,” she said when asked about sports infrastructure in J&K.
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, She extends a poignant message to all, emphasising the importance of sports, discouraging drug use, and advocating for limited mobile phone usage. She passionately promotes a healthier lifestyle through regular exercise, highlighting the holistic benefits for both physical and mental well-being.
She requested that in this era every parent must support their children sports field as if child will be talented, he/she can make future in sports field.
