Qazigund, Sep 5: In a major development aimed at safeguarding public health, Kulgam Police on Friday said that it has lodged FIR against Ajwa Bakery and Fast food Qazigund for spreading infection through unhygienic food in Qazigund area of Kulgam district.
An official told that a joint team of Police led by SHO Qazigund Syed Nazir Indrabi, along Naib tehsildar Qazigund, TSO Qazigund, and the Food Safety Officer (FSO) Qazigund carried out inspection at a restaurant namely AJWA Bakery, Fast Food & Sweets.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 178/2025 U/S 271, 275 BNS has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and further investigation taken up.
The action follows a series of coordinated raids conducted jointly by the Police and the Food Safety Department, targeting vendors and suppliers suspected of selling expired and unhygienic meat products.
