Kulgam, Aug 30: Independent candidate, who had filed nomination paper for the Devsar assembly constituency, withdrew his nomination paper on Friday, With that, 9 candidates have remained in the fray for the constituency.
Independent Candidate who withdrew the nomination paper is Rameez Ahmad Dar of Redwani Balla as today was the last day to withdraw the nomination papers for the seat.
The candidates who are in the fray are Dr. Suhail Ahmad Bhat of Awami Itihad Party, NC’s Peerzada Faroze Shah, Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Leader, Mohd Sartaj Madni, Mohd Amin Bhat of DPAP, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Apni party, Amanullah Mantoo of Congress, Sheikh Fida Hussain of AAP, Abdul Rouf Naik (Independent) Nazir Ahmad Bhat, former member of (JeI) Independent.
The constituency is slated for elections in the first phase of the General Elections, scheduled for September 18.
In 40-Devsar AC there are 112381 voters including 56199 Male, 56175 female and 7 transgender and 127 polling stations have been established in Devsar AC.
