Qazigund (Kulgam) Jan 30: The situation in Khahgund area which falls under medical block Qazigund where ten persons have tested positive for jaundice is under control, and there is no cause for panic while special teams of experts are actively monitoring the situation on ground, official said on Thursday.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund, Dr. Nighat Nasreen told that things are totally under control and emphasized there is no need to panic. “A combined team of experts from health department are working on ground and they have taken samples, but the report is yet to come regarding the cause of the jauncide in the area”.
She said that the screening process is underway, and so far, 10 people have tested positive for jaundice in the area.
“The situation is under control as all patients are stable and recovering well,” she said.
She urged authorities and residents to ensure safe water and sanitation practices to prevent further infections.
