Wildlife teams from Dachigam on way: Officials
Srinagar, Jul 17: Following the reports of a leopard sighting near Badamwari Park on Monday, Srinagar police have asked the locals of the area to remain indoors and not venture out unnecessarily.
A senior wildlife official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they have sent a team of experts from Dachigam to ascertain the claim along with immediate rescue equipment.
“A team of wildlife experts has been sent to the area, we will speak to the eyewitnesses and once confirmed, we will start the rescue operation”, the official said.
Notably, Srinagar police in a tweet wrote, “One Leopard has been sighted by some locals near Badamwari park-Hari Parbat axis. Locals of the area are requested to remain indoors & don’t venture unnecessarily. Police teams are on the job. Wildlife officials have been informed & are on the way to rescue it safely”—(KNO)
