Bandipora, Jul 17: A 43-year-old man died after slipping into an irrigation canal in Gund-Jahangir Sonawari in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Farooq Ahmad Paier, son of Abdus Samad Paier, a resident of Kralpora, Kupwara slipped into an irrigation canal at the Gund-Jahangir Sonawari in Hajin while crossing it.
He said the body was retrieved by locals and shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin.
“After completing all legal formalities, the body was handed over to the deceased’s family for last rites,” the official said—(KNO)
