Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law, says DMO Kulgam; Urges people to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal mining practices
Kulgam, Dec 25: Hours after news published regarding the iIllegal excavation of soil at Kund Mode in Devsar area of Kulgam, acting promptly upon a specific information regarding excavation.
A team of Geology and Mining department Kulgam led by District Mineral Officer Murtaza Bashir raided the specific location and seized One JCB and a seive tractor involved in illegal excavation of soil in the area.
DMO Kulgam told Voice of India that all the vehicles after seizure were handed over to Police station Devsar till the realization of penalty by the geology and mining department.
DMO also appealed people to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal mining practices, adding that the persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
