Kulgam, Nov 2: The Departument of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Zone Kilam of Kulgam on Saturday organized One Day Training Cum exposure visit of farmers within the state Under promotion of Commercial Floriculture To Floriculture Park Sirhama Anantnag.
The Farmers were accompanied by Agriculture Extension Officer Kilam Zakir Khurshid Raina, Circle Officers and other staff members of the zone.
More than 25 Progressive farmers Participated in the said Programme and visited the Floriculture Park Sirhama Where incharge farm Shabir Ahmad Bhat briefed the farmers about advanced techniques and best practices in lavender Production post harvest Management, Marketing Strategies and value addition for fostering economic empowerment and self Suffiency among educated unemployed youth under the support of the HADP initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, AEO Kilam highlighted the economic importance of levender Crop and Said that there is huge potential of the crop to graph in this sector.He further added that cultivation of levender and other Floriculture crops on Commercial lines and participation of educated youth will be tool to achieve Socio-Economic Transformation of the farming Community.
