Devsar, (Kulgam) Nov 15: Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was organized on Friday at Police Station Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district to strengthen the police-public relationship.
The PCPG meeting was facilitated on the directions of SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal and was chaired by Addl. SP NH44 Mumtaz Ali Bhatia, SDPO Qazigund, Rameez Raja, SHO PS Devsar, Rishi Kumar and was attended by respectable citizens, lumbardars, Ex-Panchs, Ex-Sarpanchs and civil society members of Devsar belt.
During the meeting, various issues including drug menace, rising social evils and other public service delivery were discussed.
“All the grievances were heard patiently in the meeting. The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to police will be dealt with as per law and remaining grievances will be taken up with the concerned departments. The cooperation of the general public was sought in eradication of drug menace and other social crimes from the society. It was said that these meetings play an important role in bridging the vacuum between police and the general public and transforming police force into responsible, transparent, accountable and sensitive to public issues,” said police official.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer said such meetings are conducted to solicit suggestions and seek public support for better policing in the area and this process will continue in the future as well.
The participants appreciated the role of the police in conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of society.
