Kulgam, Feb 22: The authorities in district Kulgam today made it clear that the salaries of Government employees with pending electricity bills will not be released.
In a circular issued, the Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, stated that “Managing Director Kashmir Power Distribution corporation limited (KPDCL) vide communication under reference has apprised that government has fixed revenue targets for KPDCL for the current financial year on account of pending huge electricity dues”
Therefore, in order to catalyze the recovery of electricity dues from the consumers, it is imressed upon all drawing & Disbursing Officers of District Kulgam to draw the salary in favour of employees of their respective establishments only after ascertaining that the employees on their establishment have cleared their electricity dues.
“Further contractor also directed to clear their power bills, before releasing their payment for development works”, the circular reads.
The District Treasury Officer Kulgam, shall process the salary bills on the month of February 2024 only after the receipt of a certificate to this effect from the concerned drawing & disbursing Officer
