Kulgam, Jan 19: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, security has been beefed up across South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Friday.
As per reports, checkpoints have been erected in many places in Kulgam and frisking has been intensified. Security personnel are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles.
“Kulgam police intensified search ahead of Republic Day on the direction of SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal-IPS from last few days, the process of searches have been going on various places including Mirbazar.
The Republic day functions will be held in district headquarter of Kulgam on Jan 26.
