Qazigund (Kulgam) March 6: Kulgam police held a public meeting at Police Station Qazigund in Kulgam district on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal, besides, SP NHW Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, SDPO Qazigund, Mansoor Ayaz, SHO Qazigund Masood Malik and others were present on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by a large number of respectable members of the area including Numberdars and Chowkidars oand its adjacent areas.
During the meeting, various issues including road connectivity, electricity issues, water supply, Solar lights, drug menace, price rise in markets, rising social evils and other public service delivery were discussed.
All the grievances were heard patiently in the meeting. The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to police will be dealt with as per law and remaining grievances will be taken up with the concerned departments.
The cooperation of the general public was sought in eradication of drug menace and other social crimes from the society. It was said that these meetings play an important role in bridging the vacuum between police and the general public and transforming police force into responsible, transparent, accountable and sensitive to public issues,” said police official.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP said such meetings are conducted to solicit suggestions and seek public support for better policing in the area and this process will continue in the future as well.
The participants appreciated the role of the police in conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of society.
