Kulgam, January 14: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam police have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police party headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Zadoora Crossing on NHW-44 intercepted two suspicious persons namely; Mudasir Ahmad Ahangar S/O Nazir Ahmad Ahangar R/O Doru and Mohd Iqbal Chopan S/O Lal mohd Chopan R/O Shangas carrying nylon bags. After noticing police party they tried to flee from the spot. They were chased and apprehended tactfully. After checking, officers were able to recover 4.2 Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 07/2024 under section 8/15, 29 has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
