Srinagar, Feb 21: The X account of Greater Kashmir newspaper and digital media has been successfully restored after several hours of uncertainty stemming from a hacking incident that left the account compromised.

The ordeal began earlier today when unauthorized access to the X account was detected, leading to concerns of potential data breaches and unauthorized activities. Immediate action was taken by the account administrators, who promptly notified the relevant authorities and initiated measures to secure the account.

“After hours of intensive efforts and collaboration with the platform’s support team, we are pleased to announce that our X account has been restored,” stated Wahid Bukhari, Online Editor, Greater Kashmir. “The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ever-present cybersecurity risks in today’s digital landscape, and we will continue to invest in robust measures to protect our online presence.

“With normalcy restored, users can once again access the account’s content and engage with the organization’s news updates and articles.

Additionally, a formal complaint has been filed with the local police authorities to investigate the hacking incident thoroughly.
