Kulgam, Feb 29: Around 88000 children’s under the age of five are set to receive immunisation across Kulgam district on March 3, 2024 – on National Immunisation Day.
Talking to Kashmir Upfront, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam Dr. Gulzar Ahmad told that all arrangements regarding the pulse polio immunization have been finalised in the district.
He said a total 88381 childrens under the age of five awould get vaccinated, adding that 507 booths have been set up across Kulgam for which 2032 workers have tasked for immunisation including 925 vaccinators, 689 Asha Workers, 367 Anganwadi workers and 51 volunteers.
“All 30 cold chain points are fully functional with state of art ILRs, Deep Freezers, Cold boxes across district”, he said, adding that they would supply the vaccine in all areas of Kulgam.
He also added that due to weather advisory by MeT department we would ensure the vaccine would be dispatched before March 1 to all far flung areas in the district.
