
Qazigund (Kulgam) Nov 4: Residents of several villages in Qazigund belt on Tuesday complained that they are without electricity since morning and the concern department is watching
as mute spectator.
Locals said, unscheduled power cuts have made their lives miserable and this is first time as winter sets in and we are not receiving power supply as per the prescribed schedule.
“Many worried Parents of school childrens appearing for Class X and Class XII examinations. “My son, is preparing for Class X examinations. He finds it hard to study under a candlelight after sundown and keeps shivering in the cold wave”, one of the parent said.
“What is disturbing us the most is the study of the students’ and inconvenience to the patients, both suffer ineffably”, a local said.
They requested Chief Engineer Kashmir Power Development Corporation (KPDCL) to look into the matter and redress the issue at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
When contacted, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) at KPDCL Sub-Division Qazigund Waseem Mustafa, said that strong and gusty winds disrupted power supply across multiple locations in Qazigund belt. “Restoration efforts were initiated immediately to ensure early normalization of supply,” the official said.
