Srinagar, May 22: Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina on Monday said that the third G20 tourism working Group meeting, which is the largest event being held in Jammu and Kashmir after the country’s independence, should be warmly embraced by all political leaders in the region.
“Throughout this event, the Srinagar city is bustling with activity as all its markets, including Lalchowk, remain open. People are freely moving around without any issues, creating a serene and peaceful environment,” the J&K BJP chief told the reporters here at Srinagar as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He also appeals to all prominent political leaders to extend a warm and sincere welcome to the members of the G20 team.
“Top leaders such as Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, who have served in significant constitutional positions including chief ministers and other ministerial roles, have consistently received warm receptions during their foreign visits to various countries. Today, as these foreign guests have come to our homeland, it is essential that we extend them a heartfelt welcome,” he added.
To a question about the absence of political leaders from J&K at the event, he said that the gathering was not a political affair, but rather a G20 Tourism Working Group meeting focused on enhancing tourism in the Union Territory. He further added that all the attendees were specifically invited for this purpose.
About the absence of certain countries at the event, he said that those who have attended are warmly welcomed, while also extending a gracious welcome to those who were unable to participate in the event—(KNO)
