Kulgam, May 08: Youth of Kashmir Blood Donors, in collaboration with the District Hospital Kulgam, organizes a blood donation camp at DC Kulgam on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan also visited the camp.
Istiyaq Ahmad Khanday, a local resident, emphasized the importance of donating blood, particularly in light of the increasing number of road accidents. He stated that the availability of blood is crucial for doctors in such situations.
“I appeal to the youth to come forward and donate blood wherever such camps are organized,” he added.
Dr. Gulzar Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kulgam, said that, Blood donors save lives, and we are extremely happy to see all these donors coming forth to donate blood.
“Having been in Kulgam for the past several years, we have never encountered any issues with blood supply, and people here are aware that donating blood does not lead to any negative consequences,” he said.
The CMO said that within 15 days, donors naturally replenish the donated blood. “Donating blood is important and does not have any negative impact. However, if we refrain from donating blood, the negative impact is that we fail to contribute to saving lives.”
