Kulgam, July 3: Jal Shakti department (PHE) division Qazigund organised Pani Samiti Convention at Devsar, Kulgam on Wednesday.
The convention was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam Athar Amir khan.
The convention commenced with a comprehensive Presentation highlighting the proposed plan and achievements of ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission works in Qazigund division.
AEE PHE Division, Qazigund said that a 6139 number of households have been provided with potable water connections to date, working towards the set target of 7717 households in Devsar block.
It was also disclosed that under JJM, Devsar block has a total of 11 schemes with 3 already completed and 3 schemes nearing completion and 5 would be completed within two months. It was emphasized that access to clean water is a fundamental right and a top priority under the JJM.
The convention witnessed the active participation of multilevel Pani Samiti members and key officials including Viqar Ahmad Giri, Additional Deputy commissioner (ADC), Des Raj Sharma Executive Engineer PHE Qazigund, Nawaz Ahmad Exen PHE Kulgam, Mehraj din zrather Exen Irrigation Kulgam, Raqib Ahmad Ganie Tehsildar, Devsar, Mohd Rafiq AEE Jal Shakti Qazigund, Zahid Sajad CPO Kulgam, among others.
DC Kulgam In his address said that under JJM every household is being provided with FHTCs ensuring quality of potable water besides imparting training to the members of paani samitis to play guardian role in maintaining JJM assets and their upkeep.
