KULGAM, MAY 30: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review progress made under the saturation campaign of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY).

During the meeting, it was informed that the two schemes of Govt. of India PMJJBY and PMSBY are aimed at providing life and accidental insurance cover to the citizens especially the marginal section of the society.

It was also shared that the risk coverage under PMSBY and PMJJBY is Rs 2 lac for accidental death and full disability, and Rs 01 lac for partial disability and the annual premium is Rs 20.

The risk coverage under PMJJBY is also Rs. 02 lac in case the death of the insurer is due to any reason. The premium is just Rs. 436 per annum.

In order to achieve the saturation under these two schemes, the DDC directed that saturation campaigns shall be organized in all the Gram panchayat levels.

He directed to cover all eligible beneficiaries and to ensure mass awareness in all gram panchayats so that the information related to schemes will reach to every beneficiary.

The NRLM (Umeed) and Agriculture department were also instructed to cover all SHG members and farmers under the flagship scheme.

To achieve the saturation under these schemes, the DDC directed that saturation campaigns shall be organized at Gram panchayats across the district.
