
Kulgam, Nov 11: In the wake of the recent blast in Delhi, security forces in Kulgam have stepped up surveillance and launched comprehensive checking operations to prevent any potential threat in the region. The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, one of the most sensitive transit routes in the Union Territory, has been placed under tight security as part of heightened precautionary measures.
On Tuesday, Kulgam Police and other security agencies conducted intensive frisking and checking operations at multiple points across Kulgam district and along adjoining stretches of the highway. The operation was personally led by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, who supervised the ground deployment and monitored the security arrangements.

Speaking to reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary, said drive was part of routine security preparedness but has been intensified in view of the blast in Delhi. He added that security forces are fully alert and committed to preventing any possible disturbance in the region. “Our priority is the safety and security of the people. Such measures are essential to maintain peace and ensure no anti-national elements take advantage of the situation,” he said.
“We are sending out a clear message: anyone attempting to disrupt peace will face a swift and uncompromising response.” he added.
