Kulgam, Aug 11: As part of the “Ek Paed Shaheed Kay Naam” campaign, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan along with SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal and other police officers, participated in a plantation drive at District Police Line (DPL) Kulgam on Sunday.
During the drive, DC along with SSP planted saplings of different trees at DPL in everlasting memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
“Aim of the initiative is to inculcate a sense of patriotism and responsibility among citizens towards the nation while eulogizing the supreme sacrifices of the brave-hearts of Jammu & Kashmir Police in the service of the nation”, an official said.
After the plantation drive, an interactive meeting was held with the families of martyrs reinforcing the commitment to commemorating the heroes by DC Kulgam and SSP Kulgam. families of martyrs raised various issues, which were listened patiently by the chairing Officers.
Multiple issues were solved on spot, However, Officers assured the participants that their geniune grievances will be resolved with utmost priority. As a goodwill gesture, gifts/sweets were distributed among the families of martyrs.
