
Anantnag, August 28:: Urging the administration to expedite the assessment of damages and loss of property caused by heavy rains in various parts of Anantnag, Senior National Conference leader and District vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, has called for immediate deployment of personnel and machinery for rescue operations in submerged areas such as Khanabal, Batengoo, and surrounding localities
During an extensive tour of flood-affected areas to take stock of the situation firsthand, Shah expressed serious concern over the damage to Protection Bunds at Issoos, Teilwani, Magreypora, Donipawa, Laizbal, Janglatmandi, shirpora, Anchidora and other critical infrastructures. He stressed the urgent need for repair of damaged roads, bridges, and bunds to safeguard the population from further climate-induced disasters.
Shah also emphasized the necessity of a speedy dewatering mechanism within Anantnag city limits to prevent further damage to shops, residential areas, and other vital establishments.
Imran Shah further demanded appropriate relief and rehabilitation measures for all flood-affected individuals, including business holders, whose livelihoods have been severely disrupted by the disaster.
