Kulgam, Nov 17: In a powerful show of solidarity and respect, Director General of Police J&K, Shri Nalin Prabhat-IPS, visited Kulgam on Monday to personally extend condolences to the family of martyred policeman Arshid Ahmad Shah, a Crime Wing photographer who lost his life in the tragic accidental blast at Nowgam, Srinagar.
The DGP spent time with the bereaved family, offering heartfelt sympathies and assuring them of complete support from the Jammu and Kashmir Police during this difficult period. He praised the fallen officer for his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and courage, calling Shah’s sacrifice “a loss that the entire police fraternity feels deeply.”
Shri Prabhat emphasized that the bravery and dedication of martyr Arshid Ahmad Shah will forever remain etched in the institution’s memory, and his service to safeguarding public peace and security stands as an enduring example.
The DGP was accompanied by Special DG (Coordination) PHQ Shri S.J.M Gillani-IPS, IGP Kashmir Shri V.K Birdi-IPS, DIG SKR Shri Javed Iqbal Mattoo-IPS, SSP Kulgam Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS, and other senior officers, who together expressed collective grief and paid respects to the departed officer.
