
Kulgam, Oct 29: To assess and strengthen the overall crime and security framework in the district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS, convened a comprehensive review meeting at the Conference Hall, DPO Kulgam.
The meeting focused on critical issues including the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), implementation of new criminal laws, enforcement under the NDPS and UAPA Acts, and the use of data-driven policing to enhance law enforcement efficiency.

During the session, SSP Kulgam underscored the importance of maintaining strict vigilance to prevent any breach of peace and stability in the district. He directed officers to adopt a proactive approach in tackling drug menace under the NDPS Act and to take firm action against individuals involved in unlawful or anti-national activities under the UAPA.
Highlighting the need for professional and scientific investigation methods, the SSP instructed supervisory officers and SHOs to strengthen case investigations through the latest techniques and adherence to standard operating procedures. He also emphasized ensuring the safety and security of non-local labourers and employees working across the district.
The meeting further discussed measures to enhance intelligence gathering, intensify anti-drug operations, and improve inter-agency coordination to build a more resilient security grid. Officers were urged to maintain heightened alertness, especially in sensitive areas, to thwart any potential threats to peace and public order.
