Kulgam, Nov 7: In a significant move to prevent SIM card misuse and enhance Public safety, Kulgam Police conducted a comprehensive inspection of SIM card vendors across Kulgam district on Friday.
An official told that the drive was carried out at many places in Kulgam under the supervision of SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary (IPS) aimed to ensure strict compliance with guidelines for SIM card sales and activations while supporting law enforcement efforts.
“The inspection focused on verifying adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, proper documentation, and preventing unauthorized issuance of SIM cards. Vendors were monitored to ensure their operations comply with all legal and regulatory requirements”, he said.
“Vendors were warned that any non-compliance would attract severe legal action, including penalties, cancellation of licenses, and prosecution”, he added.
